A quote by Denis Waitley..

Since the mind is a specific biocomputer, it needs specific instructions and directions. The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.

This great article (link below) breaks down what the brain is doing and some of the science behind visualization AND includes great ideas you can implement into your visualization practice.

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. – A quote by Theodore Roosevelt

Gray twilight… not a place where JOY exists.  Gray twilight says to me daily grind, reacting… coming from a place where you are totally at the effect of circumstances.  Circumstances like not enough time, not enough money, and lots and lots of SHOULDS.

Notice today when you are in the gray twilight.  Notice first.  Then physically shake it off… shrug your shoulders or wiggle in your seat a bit.

Find your way back to a place of choice.

You might ask yourself, “What commitment brings me to take this action?”  Sometimes, simply presencing ourselves to the “mighty things” we are committed to, brings us back out of the gray into the color.

If you can’t seem to presence yourself to a commitment, choose something different.  Choose to “dare mighty things”.  You’ll be delighted and surprised at the color and the JOY that’s available from that place.

Have other ideas moving out of Teddy Roosevelt’s gray twilight?  Please share them!

ONE day, a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”

“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?” You can’t possibly make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…

“Made a difference for that one.”

Adapted from The Starfish Story by Loren Eiseley

Where do you let what seems reasonable?   What is your heart asking you to do in the face of your head telling you it’s not practical, it won’t make a difference or some other such limiting story.  What can you do today that will make a difference for ONE?

linus

A thought provoking quote by Marilyn Ferguson:

“It’s not so much that we’re afraid of change or so in love with the old ways, but it’s that place in between that we fear… It’s like being between trapezes. It’s Linus when his blanket is in the dryer. There’s nothing to hold on to.”

What’s your Linus Blanket?

I write this from my recently re-located, re-floored, re-doored and re-painted office.  What started out as a simple move of my office from one room to another turned into a remodel once we found the floor had rotted out (and fixing it meant replacing the door…)

Thank you for the lesson in being unstoppable… and for getting to practice keeping good humor despite issues turning up at every turn.

My reward is having a beautiful, sacred space to do this sacred work I love so much.

I’m luxuriating in the lovely, clean space which has a view of old growth trees and the occassional four legged creature walking by…. AHHHHHH.  Delicious.
